Each year, based on the number of students that have taken Jamb and the rate of Pass/Failure in Jamb, a specified point or mark is being selected by Jamb to all the Universities admitting students through Jamb. UNICAL cut off mark is that minimum mark or Jamb score a student must have in order for him or her to be admitted into UNICAL.
UNICAL cut off mark is divided into two. Let us take them one after the other.
UNICAL Jamb cut off mark 2019/20
Like I said earlier, Jamb do give a specified point to all Universities as their cut off mark for admission. In this case, UNICAL cut off mark as announced by Jamb is placed at 180. As a rule, UNICAL cut off mark being 180 is just the minimum score they can accept. This does not mean that if you have 180 you will be admitted. Your chances of gaining admission into UNICAL will be increased as your Jamb score increases.
UNICAL Departmental cut off mark 2019/2020 / UNICAL post utme cut off mark
From past experience, UNICAL cut off mark only follows the cut off mark given by Jamb which is 180. This means that once you have up to 180 in your Jamb, you are eligible to apply for admission in UNICAL, but not a guarantee that you will be admitted. Remember, your chances of gaining admission is proportional to your Jamb score. However, due to some department that are always competitive, UNICAL has specified its cut off mark for such department. For UNICAL post utme cut off mark, it depends on the pass/failure rate in the Post Utme.
UNICAL mode of Admission - UNICAL nature of Admission 2019
Normally, UNICAL mode or nature of admission is carried out in two ways;
- Admission done through the Screening of candidate's Jamb result and SSCE result. This normally last for 1 to 2 weeks. Candidates are being assessed based on their performance in SSCE and Jamb. When the exercise is announced, you are only required to go there with those two things mentioned above. For those not leaving in Calabar, you are advised to go to Calabar a day before the screening takes place.
- Admission Screening done after the UNICAL admission list is out. Here, all the students who have been offered admission are being called for another screening. This Screening involves;
- Assessing your Educational qualification
- Birth certificate or age declaration
- Attestation letter from your Village Head.
- Certificate of Origin
